Go to heaven for the weather

Listening to - The Audition
Reading - Let The Right One In & this week's Kerrang!
Watching - random youtube videos of Madina Lake

Finally been having some decent sunny weather this week, although I've nearly died because of the heat. I swear whenever summer rears it's head, everyone goes insane. Everyone puts their shorts, vests and flip flops on, covers themselves in sun cream and lay outside in their gardens, allowing themselves to fry and sizzle in the heat. Basically making them look like something that comes out of the oven after two hours.

I've decided that sunbathing is a form of self-harm. I mean, willingly sitting outside letting UV rays damage your skin cells and possibly cause you to develop malignant melanoma? I don't think so. Okay if you're protected but personally I wouldn't want my health at risk because of a desire to 'look good'. Think that chicken has malignant melanoma? ......Naah, me either....

In other news, I got my prom dress today. Yknow the video for 'Helena' by My Chemical Romance? You remember the dress that the woman in the coffin wears? My dress is like that, only longer. And I've been messing around with my hair, trying to figure out how I want it for prom.

Currently, my hair looks like this at the back (even though Audrey is wearing extensions & possibly a hair piece). Although some of it's pinned and not all hanging loose at the back, half up half down if you like.

The front of my hair looks simialr to this. Loose curls, turning into waves and more pulled over to one side. The more I look at this photo, the more I like this hair style over the other one. I just don't know if I want all my hair pinned up for prom. Want to look a bit different to everyone else yknow. Well, bright pink hair and a black and dress? How much more different do you want to be girl?

Oh Tarina Tarantino, you continue to amaze me. How I wish I owned these magnificent shoes.

(Y) is for Yashin

Allow me to introduce: Yashin
screamo/metal/rock

'Yashin are a band to watch, up there with Enter Shikari and the Gallows' - Jo Whiley

Yashin are six-piece from Glasgow, Scotland. They have everything you would expect from a 'screamo' band; dual vocalists mixing the clean and the screaming, crunching guitars and bright, brittle melodies, but there's something else about Yashin that makes them more addictive after the first listen.

Yashin is made up of:

Harry - vocals (singing)

Kevin - vocals (screaming)

Paul - guitars

Andy - bass/vocals

Lewis - guitars

Dave - drums

Originally, Yashin only had five members. There was one singer in the begining, Mike, but he was replaced by two vocalists Harry and Kevin. Their engery live is amazing, they encourage the crowd to participate in circle pits and walls of death, the two singers even diving into the crowd at various points. A support band when I saw them, Yashin's set feels short but deffinately doesn't leave you feeling like they've held back. They leave you wanting more.

If you like your music to have loud, grinding guitars and heavy drums, a catchy chorus and a band that leaps about onstage; then Yashin are deffiantly a band you should be checking out. They are currently on tour and have a series of live dates lined up for the autumn, starting in October.
For now, I'll leave you with this. A personal favourite of mine, 'Tonight We Dance' (with original singer Mike)

Cupcakes and Tarina Tarantino

Cleared out my wardrobe today. Feels great to get rid of all the old clothes that I never wear anymore. Plus I'm giving all three bags to charity, so I'm doing something good for other people. Think I'll sort out my shoes tomorrow.

What's that? Cupcakes in the shape of some japanese style faces and Elmo? Oh how I want to make some cupcakes like this right now.

We have here the Tarina Taratino Barbie. I want this doll so badly! If only I'd remembered and asked for her for my birthday, maybe I'd have one right now. Or maybe I can just buy one myself. Possibly... But oh god do I love TT's jewelry. Earrings with smoking rabbits hanging from the loops? Yes please!

Please, please, please let me somehow get enough money to buy that necklace

I think I'll start another fashion mood board tonight. This time it'll be one with the 'street style' theme, rather than using magazine clippings of styled models. Oh and I'll be washing my hair later. I'll save colouring it until another day.

And it's warm weather that makes me develop weird food combinations. Grapes and chocolate mousse anyone? Not as bad as it sounds, or looks to be honest. Would've been better if I had some strawberries to go with it.

Transformers 2 tomorrow. Only been waiting how long for this film?

Listening to: My Passion - 'Corporate Flesh Party'
Reading: Let The Right One In
Watching: clips from 'American Psycho'

I guess I'm going to use this blog for random thoughts/pictures I find and as something to cure boredom over the next 11 weeks that are my summer holidays. Last week was my 16th birthday, which happened to be the day after my last GCSE exam. Happy didn't even cover it. Went to see 'Terminator: Salvation' with a friend. Despite reading reviews that didn't make the film seem too promising, I enjoyed it.

Speaking of films that star Christian Bale:
I love 'American Psycho'. It really is one of those classic must-see-before-you-die films. The first time I watched it the ending totally confused me, but that's what I love about it; I watch it over and over, and I come up with a different idea about it every time. Maybe when I start reading the book it'll explain things more. That's something do to this summer c:

Oh hai amazing band called My Passion, I love your new cd 'Corporate Flesh Party', it makes my ears happy. I love it when a band comments you back on myspace like you do, you lovely people. Also, I need to see you live. Whenever you've been playing in Newcastle over the past year I've missed you every single time D:
  1. when you played with Kill Hannah in septemeber I missed you
  2. when you played with Innerpartysystem in february I missed you
  3. when you played at The Cooperage in march I missed you
  4. when you played at the O2 Academy this month I missed you
